PSLE exams from the previous three years, from 2013 to 2017, will be released in their entirety and bundled as assessment books, which will be available for purchase at major bookshops starting tomorrow, according to the Singapore Exams and Assessments Board (SEAB). The board said that only papers from of the past two years would be published yearly in order to account for small changes to the syllabus that have recently occurred.
Past-year exams will be accessible in all disciplines English, native language languages, mathematics, and science and will be priced between S$2 and S$4 per paper. Answer keys will be supplied for all past-year papers. It used to be that students could only obtain test questions from previous psle paper that were as ancient as five years in the year of publication, and that these questions would be classified by subject or kind. It also provides students with the opportunity to practise taking the test before they sit for the real thing, allowing them to get a feel of how much time they’ll have to complete a full set of questions before the real thing.
As a result, I am pleased that the SEAB has chosen to release PSLE in exam format as well, so that students can get a better sense of the kinds and spread of questionnaires that will allow all students to demonstrate subject skill, and start preparing well to not over and spend excessive amount of time on the hole, but to free up opportunities for fun, for discovering interests, and for holistic education; and not to under-prepare, as PSLE can serve as a decent indicator of their master.
The current booklets, which include previous year test questions organised by subjects and item kinds, will continue to be available on the shelves, according to a statement released by the Education Ministry yesterday. Accordingly it is very impossible for us to enumerate… all of the potential responses for each (open-ended) inquiry. In the areas where we fall far short, we are concerned that people would conclude that we only accept certain solutions and reject the others. The Education Minister stated that the change will assist students in preparing well for the exams, to not over and spend excessive amount of time on hole, but to free up opportunities for fun and not to lack the self as the PSLE will be a decent indicator for future generation.
